End Of 2025

2025 was... a year. to put it lightly.
Between the start of a new presidency in America, a New Pope, New City, New Job, New Kid, New Passions... A lot of new things! This year, I became a single parent to two as well and that is definitely the biggest challenge of them all.
Overall: I got my name legally changed to my Real Name, a week before I turned 22. My little Potato came to be, the day after I moved into Good ol' Red State North Dakota.
I got to go to 2 concerts, one for Hollywood Undead and one for Sleep Token I met my lovely artist and started to be more ambitious, thus the creation of The Fox Den! I became chair of a Youth Action Board dedicated to ending homelessness in the area. To top the year off, I restarted my testosterone journey! One that I hope to never lose the path of again. All around really exciting and gender affirming things!
I made a YouTube Video to talk a little about my year, my goals for the upcoming year and highlight important or fun events. If you're interested, you can find that here: https://youtu.be/iatmxRz_3uQ
2026.
Everyone always says, "this is going to be my year!" and it's laughable every time because no one knows what the year holds. I like the concept of New Year Resolutions though, as I'm a firm believer in striving to do better in life so I wanted to share mine. Most resolutions are wild and outlandish like "Exercise everyday" after spending a year on the couch or " get a brand-new car" after saving no money (especially in this economy!)
It's not very motivating to make a resolution that you immediately fail.
The key to resolutions is to have "SMART" Goals, remember that from school? I do! It sounds silly but I swear it works! SMART goals are specific, manageable, attainable, relevant and time bound. Specific: What specifically would benefit your life? "To be healthier" is a common resolution but what does that look like to you? More frequent walks? Better self-care? Manageable: How are you able to track this? "I want a better job" is another example, but how do you track it? Better benefits? Better pay? Attainable: "A million dollars" in a year is not attainable unless you're a business owner who doesn't pay their employees a livable wage. But having $100 or even $500 in savings might be possible in a year depending on your wages.
Relevant: This is essentially making sure your goals align with your values and wants. You wouldn't make a goal to get your CDL if you despised driving but a goal to become better at public speaking would be great for someone aiming for a leadership position.
Time-Bound: This is easy as it's a "new year" resolution, but I like to break it down by months.
With that in mind, my goals for 2026 involve having happy healthy kids and gender affirming care for myself.
Have a savings account with a minimum of $200
Set up savings account for each child with at least $100 in each
Continue to post at least bimonthly on The Fox Den
Post a video at least once quarterly on YouTube
Research and schedule a consultation for top surgery by November 2026
Hopefully I can stay on track with raising a Twister and a Potato on my own.
Happy Holidays from my family to yours!
